European Regulations
The "Cruelty Free" Seal
Who can use it?
Are you Cruelty Free?
And your self certification?
Why you don't use the "Cruelty Free" Seal?
How can I be sure that the ingredients you use are not tested on animals?

European Regulations

Let's step back and look at a short history of animal testing in cosmetics.

2003 → Europe is in favor of phasing out animal testing for cosmetic purposes
2004 → animal testing for COSMETIC PRODUCTS is banned (however the practice was already abandoned by 1980)
2009 → animal testing for COSMETIC INGREDIENTS is banned
2013 → a ban on marketing COSMETIC PRODUCTS containing INGREDIENTS tested on animals that originate from OUTSIDE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY takes effect

So, what is forbidden in Europe? Europe has banned the sale of cosmetics tested on animals or containing raw materials tested on animals. It also prohibited the marketing of cosmetic products from countries where it is permitted to test on animals (eg. China, Russia, Brazil, India and other countries).

The CREULTY FREE SEAL is certified from LAV and stipulates that:
● The products do not contain any type of ingredient of animal origin
● The products are not tested on animals (banned in the EU since March 2013 - EC Regulation no. 1223/2009)
● The raw materials used are not tested on animals, even by suppliers / importers

Who can use it?

All companies, subject to the approval of LAV or by a responsible (in Italy ICEA), that have provided a written statement in which they ensure that they do not lead or commission animal tests for ingredients and finished products and will not do so in the future. Also the body responsible conducts annual audits to ensure that companies maintain the behavior necessary to be considered cruelty free.

Are you Cruelty Free?

Yes absolutely! And not only that, our products do not contain any ingredients of animal origin and are all 100% MADE IN ITALY. We chose the path shared by many other companies, Italian and not, to self certify. We are confident that transparency and honesty represent the strongest message that can be transmitted to our customers.

And your self certification?

You can download it here

Why you don't use the "Cruelty Free" Seal?

We chose to be fully OPEN, anyone can see our product features. Everything that we saved economically from avoiding certification we donated to associations that share, even partly, our philosophy (here are all the details…). This is our position at the moment, this is the way we present ourselves.

How can I be sure that the ingredients you use are not tested on animals?

Companies that publicly declare something to their customers bring into play their INTEGRITY. If we were disseminating false information it would be a MEDIA DISASTER as well as a potential LAWSUIT. The same applies to our suppliers: if someone makes false promises we would immediately terminate our relationship with them. We are transparent, open, 100% vegan and, yes, also CRUELTY FREE!
